Arline Dierks Echols Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Arline Dierks Echols Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in loving memory by her family in 2018 to award scholarships to New Braunfels High School students who will be studying for a degree in choral or music.
Arline attended and graduated from New Braunfels High School and married Mack L. Echols Jr. in 1954. Arline was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She and her husband of 55 years, who predeceased her in 2010, raised two daughters while Mack served in the Air Force until he retired in Mesa, AZ in 1971. She lived such places as Texas, Mississippi, Okinawa, Nevada and Arizona. Arline worked Civil Service for many years, retiring in 1993.
The Arline Dierks Echols Memorial Scholarship is open to students who:
- Are graduating seniors at New Braunfels High School;
- Will be studying for a degree in choral or music; and
- Have maintained a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) and are passing all classes.
Special consideration will be given those applicants who are of German heritage.
